Job Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to work on a team at our client site in Irvine, CA. This role is W2 with Roth Staffing and no 3rd party candidates can be considered. Big 5 accounting firm experience is preferred and a CPA is required.

Pay Rate Range: $90.00/hr. - $103.33/hr.

Description/Comment:

The Accounting Manager manages and reviews the full month-end close, oversees recording of key transactions as the business expands into new product lines and regions, and leads process improvements to integrate accounting procedures with the company's financial systems. This role will collaborate with individuals in multiple departments such as Financial Planning & Analysis, tax, and operations. The individual should have the ability to work cross functionally with these groups in addition to having ownership of their respective general ledger transactions, variance analysis, and process improvements as the business grows in complexity globally.

1. Manage and analyze the full month-end close cycle and reporting.

2. Own financial interpretation of business activity amongst business units, departments, and projects to properly record financial transactions to the correct financial reporting entity.

3. Oversee a team of individual contributors through all business processes and month-end close improvements; mentor team members to take on more complex transactions and workpapers.

4. Ensure the application of US GAAP accounting principles and practices, demonstrate proficiency in areas related to the general ledger and financial reporting and communicate clearly with all levels of the organization.

5. Collaborate globally and cross functionally to build scalable accounting and operational processes (ERP system integration, mapping transactions to the GL, invoice coding), maintain 6 day close cycle in line with parent company requirements, and improve timelines and efficiencies to support global growth.

6. Variance analysis to support business partners and FP&A team.

7. Work with third party accounting firm in various regions to manage local statutory filing and tax requirements.

8. Oversee general accounting functions such as preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and general ledger integrity.

9. Oversee annual statutory audits and manage local audit firms to ensure compliance with country and entity specific regulations, as needed.

10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

1. Demonstrated expert knowledge working with business units, identifying key business transactions, and translate operations into financial transactions.

2. Ability to identify detailed transaction coding errors, vet financial data for accuracy upon review in ERP system, and willingness to find process enhancements to reduce such errors in the future.

3. Self-motivated and a continuous learner that seeks new information through technology and industry best practices to solve complex problems.

4. Ability to manage relationships across departments with competing priorities while proactively following-up on open tasks with minimal supervision.

5. Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines.

6. Proficient knowledge of how foreign currency transactions and translation affect GL consolidation and downstream US reporting impacts.

7. Ability to create procedures for day-to-day operations to comply with SOX requirements.

8. Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large data sets.

9. Demonstrated proficiency in standard MS Office software applications.

10. Excellent communicator, both written and oral for technical and non-technical audiences.

Additional Job Details:

1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2. Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience.

3. Minimum of 5 years of professional progressive accounting experience.

4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in management or leadership.

5. Strong understanding and hands on experience working in US GAAP.

6. Experience working in a multi-national corporation.

7. CPA required.

Preferred:

1. Advanced degree such as a Master's in Accounting or MBA preferred.

2. Medical device industry experience preferred.

3. Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive/Office Connect or other financial reporting software preferred.
